The Great Wall - Friday, March 20th

We are headed off to the Great Wall!  How excited I am!  We are going to the Badaling section that was built around 1505.  All I can say is "Wow!"  Have I really just walked on The Great Wall?  I have!  We had the most beautiful weather too.  It seemed a bit chilly as we got out of the bus, as the wind was blowing.  Gratefully that wind cleaned out the smog and we had blue skies and clear views.  We were there two hours and it was a tricky walk as you had big stairs and then little stairs and then a mixture of both.  When we got back we went into a shop just to look as we found a cute T-shirt of the Great Wall and the clerk did our names on the shirts in Chinese for only $16.  Linda liked the shirt I bought but they didn't have one in her size - no problem, the clerk went and got a plain shirt and sat and painted it right in front of us - it was amazing!  What a fantastic day!
